Typo? Uh-oh. Introducing edit comment.

After Liking, comments are the most heavily-used social feature in ThoughtFarmer. We’ve improved them in our new release, 6.5 Avocado: now you can edit comments.

Users often notice their typos immediately after hitting the "Post reply" button.

Now, it’s important that employees are accountable for content they produce. Saving a history of comments ensures employees take ownership for their online social interactions. Historically, we did not include editing for comments in order to preserve these authentic interactions (just like in real life, you can’t change or take back what you say).

However, users were experiencing “arrrggggh!” moments after posting a comment and realizing they had made a typo or spelling error. To solve this issue, we’ve now added a 2-minute window (configurable) to comments where users can edit to fix up spelling and grammar issues.

Clicking "Edit" lets you re-enter edit mode and fix your typo.

After the 2-minute window is over, the “Edit” button disappears, and any pending email notifications are released.
